If you’re fairly new to Poshmark you might be missing out on some easy but game changing tips and tricks to increase your closet visibility and sales.
Since starting my full-time reseller business in 2017, I have tried many different tactics and took note of which ones worked well. After reading this article, you’ll know exactly what you need to do to take your Poshmark business to the next level.
1. Thank you notes
I noticed an increase in love-notes whenever I put a few extra minutes into my thank you cards. This doesn’t have to take a long time, but the extra minute or two goes a long way, buyers love thank you notes!
2. Social media
If you’re going to be re-selling full-time, you’ll want to set up some social medias for business purposes. I chose to set up a business Instagram and a business Facebook page.
I use these platforms to share promotions, special events, and my blogs! You want to promote your Posh closet in as many places as you can, to increase how many people might find your closet.
I even share some things on my personal accounts and ask close friends and family members to share my post. This helps give my closet more exposure.
I’m not a social media expert, but I have increased sells and met some amazing people through these platforms.
3. Storage bins
To be a full-time reseller, you’re going to need to be organized. For me, I found buying cheap storage bins and labeling them worked best for me.
After I add an item to Poshmark, I put it in a bin (try to put similar items into bins), then log this into an excel sheet.
This way, my inventory is organized. When one of the items sell, I look at my excel sheet to remind myself which bin it is stored in.
Being organized is imperative.
4. Utilize free shipping supplies from USPS
If you have been spending money on shipping packages, I need you to stop what you are doing right now and read my blog on how to get free shipping supplies.
In short, USPS provides free shipping packages and boxes. There is no reason to spend your own money on them.

5. Tissue paper & ribbon
A little tissue paper and ribbon really makes a difference. Pick up these supplies from the dollar store. It’s cheap and only takes a few extra seconds to wrap your item.
This will increase your chances of a 5-star rating, which you definitely want, even if you’re a part-time seller.
6. Ring light
Investing in a ring light was one of the best business decisions I made. The extra light improved my pictures and helped increase my sales.
Now, when I say investing, I truly mean it. I first bought a cheap $30 ring light on Amazon and immediately regretted it. Once I invested in this ring light, I never looked back.
Don’t cheap out when it comes to lighting. Invest in your business.
7. Use money made for inventory
As a full-time reseller, I’m constantly looking for new inventory. Can’t do this full-time without a large inventory.
The best way I found to fund the inventory, was to use the money I made on sales.
Starting off, I sold things around my house. There was a lot of items I never wore or used that I was able to list. Once money starting coming in, I re-invested that into my inventory.
How you invest your earnings is entirely up to you. I personally found this works best for me!
8. Notes
If you have a phone, you most likely have a notes app.
Use your notes app to write out common phrases or comments you make on people’s closet.
That way, you can simply copy & paste. This saves a lot of time!
One example is pre-writing out hashtags for your Instagram posts. Have at least three different groups of hashtags to use. Instagram does not like it when people use the same grouping over and over again. This is just one way I’ve utilized the notes app to save time.
This is a broad tip, but it truly can be used in many ways, find what works best for you.
9. Facebook groups
Join Poshmark Facebook groups! This has truly upped my reseller game.
These groups allow you to connect with like minded individuals. You can ask questions and get advice from some Poshmark experts.
You can also join Poshmark ISO groups. ISO, one of the many Poshmark acronyms, stands for in search of. Buyers will post what they are looking for and you can share a link to your item if you have something that matches.
Don’t wait a second longer, join Poshmark FB groups.
10. Garage sales
Being a reseller at heart, I love garage sells. I find some amazing bargains and even supplies I can use, like the tissue paper and ribbon I mentioned earlier. The Facebook Marketplace is also a great place to hunt for bargains.
Reselling is all about finding the best deals, which are often waiting for you at your local garage sales.
