How to create a Posh Story to Increase Closet Visibility

Writer's picture: FashionFindsOnlineFashionFindsOnline

Several years back Snapchat introduced the ‘story’ feature. The rise in popularity of this feature led to other social media platforms including a story feature of their own, including Poshmark.

Posh stories allow users to post 15 second videos or images. With these stories, you can share updates and items with your followers. These stories are available for 48 hours.

Currently, this feature is only available through the mobile app, not the website.

How to create a Posh story?

In the app, head to your closet. Your profile picture now has a maroon plus sign on it. You can click the plus sign or the image itself, both will open a screen where you can record photos or take pictures. You can also allow your device to access your photos and videos, making it easy to upload from your phone.

In the top right corner of the story, you will have four options to customize the photo or video. The first button, which is an outline of a person, allows you to tag people. The second button (looks like a circle around the letters 'Br' ) is the brand button. Click this to search for specific brands that you want to add to the story.

The third button, which has an outline of a T-shirt, allows you to tag any of your listings. This is a great way to promote your items.

The fourth button (Aa), is the text feature. Clock this symbol to add text to photos or videos.

To delete any elements you add, simply hold them down and drag them to the trash can symbol, which is located at the bottom center of the page.

Once you are satisfied with your post, click the blue button, that has a white arrow in it, in the bottom right corner publish!

How to use Posh stories to increase closet visibility

Your ultimate goal as a Posher, whether a business or selling casually, is likely to increase sales. The best way to increase sales is to increase closet visibility.

That’s where Posh stories come in.

  • Share new listing on Posh stories.

  • Share price drops on Posh stories.

  • Share major changes in your closet.*

*For example, if you plan on listing several shoes that day, create an advertisement with free editing apps to let your followers know about the listings.

Lastly, try to build a community with your followers. Make them feel included in your day-to-day Posh/resale activities. The more your followers get to know you, the more they will want to support you and shop your items.

As a full-time Posher, building a community is one of my top priorities. This blog was designed to help new Poshers navigate the site, and to collaborate with more advanced Poshers on the best tips & tricks of the industry. We all have the same goal to sell clothes, why not help and encourage each other along the way?
