What is a Poshmark party? How do you get a host pick? Lastly, how do you host one of these Posh Parties?
I am going to answer these three questions with tips and tricks that, in my experience, have led to successful parties or extra closet exposure.
Posh Parties are real-time virtual shopping events where users can meet up in the Poshmark app to shop, share, and sell clothing, accessories, and select home goods. They currently host 4 parties per day within the app with varying party themes. After the parties are over, check out the different showrooms within each party to shop for curated selections of items shared to that party.
Below are the four party times (central time) and the themes of each one.
1. 11am CST
The first party of the day is a brand-focused party. These parties include high-end brands like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Fendi, Dior, Tory Burch, and more. They also include popular brands such as Madewell, Anthropologie, Lululemon, Athleta, Zara, Levi’s, Lilly Pulitzer and more.
2. 2pm CST
Browse parties centered around categories like hot handbags or jewelry. If you
are looking for something more professional, they even have a best in suits party!
3. 6pm CST
These parties are focused on one of the many fashion departments you can find
on Poshmark such as plus, men, kids, maternity, best in dresses, or jeans. Browse the parties and pick which department you’d like to shop. Or shop them all!
4. 9pm CST
The last parties of the day are typically themed around styles and trends, such as “Street Style,” “Daytime to Date Night” or “Total Trendsetter.” This is the most popular party theme and time. It reaches into the millions of active users, making it the must attend party to get your closet more exposure.
To increase closet exposure, you’ll want to get your items picked by the host.
How to get a host pick
Since Posh Parties are hosted by different users each day, it’s difficult to share set guidelines that can guarantee your item will be shared by a party host.
In looking at the listings that are generally shared to a party’s host picks showroom, some things that may boost your chances of being selected as a host pick include:
Share your listings to the Posh Party.
Make sure that your listings are not in violation of any of their selling guidelines.
Make sure that your listings fit the party theme.
Reach out to the party host and ask that they consider something from your closet that matches their party theme. Then get to sharing their closet items.
Make sure that you're listing cover shots that are eye-catching, clear, and well thought-out.
Most importantly, share as many of their items in their personal closet that you can.
Share, comment, and like other Posher’s listings to grow your community and increase closet visibility. If you receive a host pick from a party host you want to update your listing with letting people know you received one by either updating a picture with ‘Host Pick’ written on it somewhere or update title and place ‘Host Pick’ or ‘HP’ at the beginning of the title.
How to host my own Posh party?
Any Posher who meets Poshmark’s criteria is eligible to host. If you’d like to host a Posh Party, be sure to fill out this application and follow up with an email.
The second way to apply is to email hosting@poshmark.com. With the popularity of the Posh Party Hosting program, they select hosts on a rotating basis from a wait list and serve on a first come, first serve basis. Be prepared to wait! This can take some time.
If you are hosting your first party, please be sure to take a look at Poshmark’s criteria for host
picks. Most importantly, please be sure that all host picks are from Posh compliant closets and boutiques.
Your account should meet the following 3 criteria:

Advice for hosting your own party
If you are selected to host a party, congrats! Now it’s time to get to work. First, you’ll want to promote that you’re hosting a party on your closet. After you post this, advertising your posh party, people will be reaching out to ask you to choose their items as a host pick. Hopefully, they will share your items too.
To make the day of your party easy, I recommend looking through these people’s items and liking the ones you want to choose as a host pick. That way, at the time of the party, you can go to your likes and easily choose your host picks.
Hosting parties are a great way to get more exposure for your closet. So is having your items chosen as a host pick.
If you have any more questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. These topics can be confusing when you’re first starting out on Poshmark and you may need further explanation. Reach out, I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have!
